Inspection Services

Level One Inspection

The recommended inspection for routine chimney cleanings and annual inspections. Also, appropriate when replacing an existing appliance with a new similar appliance.  Level One is the appropriate inspection when “nothing is changing”.  In other words, the chimney will continue to be used as it has been without significant
change.

Level Two Inspection

Level 2 safety inspections are comprehensive evaluations of the entire chimney system and the attached appliance. We'll check the exterior of the chimney for any damage or missing components, check the fireplace, stove, or insert for damage, creosote buildup, and broken components. A poor performing chimney can be a fire hazard. Water intrusion and moisture damage can lead to expensive repairs.  We use a 360-degree camera to inspect the interior of your chimney. You will receive pictures of any damage found and a completed chimney inspection report.

Sweeps

Your chimney should be checked annually and swept as necessary to protect your family from potential chimney fires. Blockages due to soot can lead to poor heating and dangerous fumes in your home. Sweeps are not limited to Fireplaces; we sweep chimneys for wood stoves, pellet stoves, and furnaces, as well as dryer vents.

Chimney Cap Installation

Chimney Caps are good way to prevent animals and debris from entering the chimney.

Chimney Crown Repair

Chimney tops have a layer of mortar or sealant to prevent water from entering your chimney. Overtime this sealant wears down and needs to be refinished. We reseal the crown of your chimney using mortar or a water-proof sealant.

Re-Seal Flashing

Overtime the silicone around your flashing shrinks and cracks allowing water to leak in. We will apply a new layer around your flashing to help prevent water intrusion.

Chimney Reflash

Chimney flashing can become damaged or begin leaking overtime. We can remove the damaged flashing and replace it with new aluminum metal. Some shingles that may be unable to be reused will be replaced surrounding the chimney. Please note that shingles may not match due to sun or weather damage to existing shingles.

Chimney Cap Damper Installation

A chimney top damper system is mounted on the crown of the chimney. A stainless-steel cable will run from the top of the chimney to the fireplace to control the operation.

Water Repellant Treatment

Help protect the integrity of your chimney with our water repellant solution! We use a silicone spray to coat the exterior of the chimney, preventing damage caused by the freezing and thawing of water once it infiltrates the mortar and brick. This helps to prevent further cracking of your chimney and seal existing cracks.

Prefab Fireplace Panel Replacement

The Panels in your fireplaced can become damaged overtime. We remove the damaged fire panels and replace them with a concrete universal panel that we will custom fit to your fireplace. Please note that color and pattern may be different than previous panels.

We will remove and dispose of the old firebrick then replace it with a new panel.

Creosote Treatment

Overtime a heavy buildup of creosote can line your chimney rendering it unsafe without a treatment. We will be applying a creosote treatment to your chimney, letting it sit for at least 48 hours before resweeping to help dry out the creosote.

Mortar Smoke Chamber

A mortar type material is applied to the inside of the smoke chamber. This is to prevent smoke from leaking behind the brick and help increase the draft in your chimney.
